You can also use all major credit cards over here. Cost of living is relatively cheap compared to most parts of Europe and N. America. You'll eat and drink well with foreign currency, but travel and accommodation during the tournament won't be as cheap. Some hotels have already doubled their rates for June-July 2010! But as far as World Cup tournaments go, SA 2010 is the cheapest in termns of ticket prices since Italy 1990. |

kumar is right, the currency is Rands, thought it might help for you to see some conversions 10.00 US Dollar = 73.61060 South African Rand, so think what $10 buys here and weigh in the fact that South Africa is considered a developing country, so things there would normally be cheaper then they are here, however keep in mind that with such a big event taking place prices will not be normal, i would expect to see them rather inflated for tourists who have money to spend. |
